i had my doubts about this produck but it proved to be just what i needed i enjoy working with it

I would not recommend this machine. I am sending mine back after one day. I have been using an HP all-in-one for six yrs. This Brother machine pales in comparison. The print quality is poor for paper and for photos. Also the paper tray feels inferior and seems like it would break very easily.
Rating: - Very pleased, great color, quiet
This is my second MFC by Brother - I had my first one about 2 years, and finally it stopped printing in both red and yellow. I always used cheap ink - not Brother ink - so this may have contributed to it - but the money I saved in the 2 years buying cheaper ink - easily paid for a new MFC - so I'd do it again. I'm very pleased with the quality of this new MFC - I like the clarity of the options, making it very easy to fax, even if you've never owned a fax machine before. I have mine hooked up to an EAD (answering machine) and the fax will pick up if it hears a fax on the other line when the answering machine picks up. I haven't used the scanner yet - but I'm sure it works as well, if not better, then the old one. Overall - this is an excellent MFC for the price, doesn't take up a lot of room, ink is very easy to change, and if you want to buy off brand ink - it is easy enough to find. I would definately buy another Brother in the future.
Rating: - I'm more than happy with my Brother printer.
I have had three HP printers and something always went wrong with them. It is not because they were subjected to lots and lots of use either.
So when my last one broke down, I said "enough with HP already". A coworker suggested buying a Brother printer. He said the ones he has had are real workhorses and has never had a problem with them. The only reason he has had more than one is to upgrade to a later model. He also said the prices are very good, which is another reason it is affordable to upgrade if you choose.
I am so glad that I took his advice. I love the features on the MFC-465cn. It is fast, quiet and so easy to use. It didn't come with a lot of needless software like my HPs did, and the price was phenomenal. I couldn't beleive that I could get some a great printer as such a great price. I couldn't be happier.
Rating:  - Don't try doing anything with heavier paper
I upgraded to this model over the MFC230 I had, hoping it would not jam paper when I tried using the heavier weight paper to do brochures up. This one was worse then the MFC230. I was CONSTANTLY unjamming paper! I am now going to have to try to go with a different brand. [...]
