Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Couldn't be much simpler
Had to update two AGP PCs running XP, the new displays were 1680x1050 - out of reach for the lesser video cards that were in the PCs.
The X1600 doesn't require any more space than the single card width, no need to move other cards out of the way to accomodate an oversized fan.
Software/driver installation was without a catch using the typical installation. After the necessary reboot, the card came up in 1680x1050 without any configuration on my part.
The image quality is great, the price is good, install without a catch - couldn't be much simpler.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Just what I expected
Great value for someone without a PCI-E slot. Easy to install, smooth gaming experience. I haven't noticed the heat issues some of the other users have posted, but generally I don't play graphic-intensive games for longer than a few hours at a time. No complaints here about performance or price. A good buy.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Useless
Before you purchase any product like this (a video card so that you can use a video game on your computer) be SURE that it is what you need. I read the booklet that came with the video game (I did not know that I needed also to purchase a video card) and was sure that I had purchased the right card. When I went to have it installed (the have to be professionally installed in your computer) I learned that what I had paid over $50 for was useless. I had to purchase another video card and have it installed. Talk to your IT person BEFORE you buy anything for your computer!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great card for the price, excellent for games or viewing Video
I mainly bought this card for the price, much less expensive here through Amazon than other websites. Plus it was a definite upgrade for my old Nvidia FX5200 128MB card. Also, I did not want to spend a lot of money since I will be upgrading to PCI-E version when I upgrade my system in the next year or so.

Radeon graphics chipsets are notorious for running hot though, so I replaced the stock cooling setup (very cheap fan and heatsink BTW) with an Arctic Cooling Accelero S2 passive cooler, it was $16 plus shipping from another website. The chipset now runs 10 degrees Celsius cooler than before, and with NO FAN. That helps make the overall setup that much quieter now and this Radeon X1600PRO just rocks!

Plus, overall cost with the add-on cooler and the new Radeon card was still less than buying just the card itself from any other website!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - now i can play COD4
ok so it's got better performance then the nvidia gforce fx5500 i had, of course it's all about twice the specs.
the sofware that came in the CD for the gcar partially worked, so i downloaded the updated catalyst and driver now everything is ok.
i'm a little decieved since my HP laptop came with a ATI GPU (radeon express 200M) and works VERY smoothly even though the framerates are low (20-40fps minimal video quality settings), and this x1600 pro is somewhat glitchy on the same games that i play on my laptop (70-100fps minimal video quality settings also), maby because my PC is homemade but i did not have those problems with the Nvidia card or is my PC getting old?? dunno, but for the price and the games i can play with this card, plus it's AGP, i am satisfied with it
oh and there are also some tools if u are interested to monitor ur GPU temperature and tweak the clock... not for newbies sorry, if u don't know how to use u'll probly burn ur gcard in 30 secs
