Electronics : Logitech Cordless MX Duo 967300-0403 |

Rating: - Just too good
I have received the product today and am very satisfied with the quality, looks and performance of the product. Both mouse and keyboard functions very well from a distance of 7-8 feets. The short cut keys provided are very useful and the multimedia keys are just too good. Its really worth the price.
Rating: - Good but not quite Elite yet
I bought this Duo set about 3 months back and have had the pleasure of going cordless. The set is solid but my biggest gripe has been the lack of accompanying documentation! There is no user manual!!! There is a sheet with pictures on how you connect it to the computer - that is all!!! Luckily that was pretty much what most people would need as it sets up easily. I would however have liked to have some hard documentation on the features in the box. If you can get it on a good deal ($60 -$80), its worth it. Hope the pro and cons below are useful too.
Keyboard ------- Pro: - Very nice feel, soft touch and quiet keys - Battery has been on more than a month and still running strong
Con: - The elite keyboard when bought separately has lights for Caps lock, Num lock, scroll lock but is missing in the Duo - Have to see the screen or base charger!
Mouse ------- Pro: - Good response and lots of configurable buttons (8) - Fast re-charge - only takes 3 - 4 hrs to get to full strength.
Cons: - A bit heavy - Just not very ergonomically designed. Hand hurts after moving around for an hour because of the sheer size. I am guessing they expected pro players with huge palms to use it! - Sometimes it looses connection to the base after coming off of standby and a OS re-boot (on XP home) is needed to correct it. - Battery lasts a maximum of 10 days before needing a re-charge.
Rating: - The software is sorry
I love the keyboard and mouse but the mouse software is driving me nuts. It hangs, it jumps, it scolls on its own. I am a professional who uses the computer all day long. I would like to toss the mouse in the river and just let it drown. The software is bad and is more like a popup virus. After many hours of studying to get rid of the stupid popup screens, now the mouse is nothing but an irritate. It will be gone from my desk very very soon. Too bad because I like everything else about it. Shame on Logitech for such a sorry job.
Rating: - Ease of use
The Logitech cordless keyboard and mouse are excellent! The keyboard has crisp button feel with multiple programable buttons to open your email server, your favorite web page, easily control your volume, a separate scroll wheel on the left and lots more. The keyboard is ultra slim as well, with a good wrist rest.
The mouse is the best part, though. I love the multiple buttons, and all of them are programmable with lots of choices. I programmed the wheel so when you press it down, it closes the program the mouse is on. Sweet! There are a couple of speed scroll buttons, so you don't keep turning the wheel. I've got the up button at the max, so I press it and the page scrolls to the top instantly.
I haven't tried the range out past a couple feet from the receiver, but my computer is in a hutch and the wood doesn't block the signal at all. I highly recommend this set. It has made a huge difference; no cables to move around, the optical never gets dirty, skips or suddenly stops the movement of the mouse. This set has worked flawlessly, no problems of slow response or hiccups. Enjoy it.
Rating: - Seems to need a clear line-of-sight
Beware! While the keyboard and mouse are extremely well-designed, I have great trouble getting them to connect consistently. I have the base station far from any electronic devices, and only about two feet from the keyboard/mouse, yet I still have problems. You can't let anything get in the line-of-sight between the base station and the devices. I had a stack of CDs between the keyboard and the base station, and the keyboard would "skip" a lot, missing letters and scrolling inconsistently using the on-keyboard wheel. If your setup would make it hard to keep the base station away from any electronic devices, and within a clear line of sight of the mouse and keyboard, I really can't recommend this device. Otherwise, it's definitely worth a try.
