Rating: - Great product! Major flaw, however...
This keyboard and mouse combo is simply magnificent! That's what I have come to expect from Logitech. The mouse has exceptional battery life. It is a bit larger than most mice, but you will easily adapt to it (note that it is for right-handers only). There's no lag in the keyboard when doing intense typing, but when Windows starts up or comes out of Sleep mode you have to wait several seconds before the mouse will "wake up." Going wireless gives you a new level of freedom. There are a few caveats. The keyboard has no "Sleep" button. I used that rather frequently on my old keyboard and have become accustomed to being able to put my PC to sleep. There is a button to switch users, however. The MAJOR issue is that neither the keyboard nor the mouse will work before Windows boots up! So, if you need to edit your BIOS, or doing anything at all before Windows starts, you can forget using this keyboard. This was a huge deal for me because I accidentally put my PC in Hibernate mode and I couldn't get it out of Hibernate b/c my keyboard/mouse wouldn't work so I could make Windows boot! Also, the mouse battery indicator that should appear in your system tray doesn't work correctly (that may just be an issue with my installation, though). This is a generally good product, but I would recommend a combo that you can use before Windows starts.
Rating: - The best cordless combo money can buy
I initially ordered a Cordless MX700 mouse, and after loving it so much I decided I would go ahead and get the combo instead. (For my opinion on the mouse check my review on Amazon for the MX700). This review will be about the wireless keyboard. First of all, the keyboard is by far the sexiest I've ever seen. The black just looks so rich and nice. It has all the features you could want on a keyboard and more. It feels VERY nice and comfortable; the keys, layout, tilt, etc are all great. This keyboard actually had the potential of being perfect except for one thing. I would figure due to the fact its cordless, for some reason I usually get a very slight lag when I'm typing. I don't know why because the mouse has never once given any kind of trouble and works flawlessly despite being cordless. This may not be so with all users as I type between 80-100 words per min. At first it was fairly annoying but I've become somewhat used to it. It is really no problem in games however (I've tried it in Unreal 2004). This is the only gripe I have with it, but its enough to deduct a whole star. Some may also not like the fact that there are no Lock Lights, I suspect to save battery power, a message does come up on screen stating whether the locks are on or off however, and the Num Lock, Caps Lock and Flock lights are on the receiver, so its not a real problem. Otherwise, you can't go wrong with this keyboard. Personallly, if you don't really need to go completely wireless, I would recommend buying the MX700 and the Corded Elite keyboard separately as you get the functionality of a regular keyboard, plus the extra great features of the Elite.
Rating: - great product
This is a great product. The mouse is really cool and functional. THe whole thing is easy to set up. The keyboard is really light, and comfortable. Its a good deal.
Rating: - great
works great and is very easily installed
Rating: - MOUSE HANGS!
Great product except for critical mouse hangs. Have chased this to death. Once it hangs, only recovery is reboot. Then, after reboot you need to get the device working again: requires a witch-doctor religious ritual: TRY_AGAIN_LABEL: pressing 'connect' button on receiver, then removing and reinserting batteries from mouse -and- pressing mouse's connect button before window on screen times out. If it doesn't work, goto TRY_AGAIN_LABEL -- three or four times usually does it!
