Rating: - A great bag
This is a great product. Good construction, excellent design, and an affordable price. This is my second of these bags. My previous one was stolen abroad and I wanted one exactly like it.
It has plenty of space. The sliding bottom "drawer" is a clever way to create space and protect the laptop if dropped. The hidden shoulder straps come in handy while carrying another bag at airports since it becomes a backpack. And the mesh pocket with top and side access is another winner.
To me, this is the "transformer" of laptop bags.
Highly recommended.
Rating: - Pretty Good Redesign
I have had the previous version of the Kensington saddlebag for several years and it has served me well - until I have abused it beyond repair. I have a company-issued Lenovo R60, with an extended battery, which is HUGE and heavy.
This new design is pretty good. I was worried that it might be a little smaller than its predecessor, to my (pleasant) surprise, it's expandable! I like the little junk drawer on the bottom, but I wish they would have kept the big pocket that was on the front of the old one. It was handy.
Also considering the main issue with my old bag was the backpack straps coming apart, I'm a bit worried about the straps on this one. They're attached differently.
All in all - not bad!
Rating: - A Good Bag, Could Do With Better Body Fit
I bought this bag for my MacBook. It is a good bag for a 15 inch laptop. It is somewhat too large for my 13 inch MacBook, but that gives me plenty of room for other things. The hidden drawer at the bottom for cables and small things is a great idea and takes away the clutter from inside your bag. the shoulder/backpack combo is convenient for my circumstances where I need both depending on how I travel of where I am. There are enough pockets and holders for your additional stuff. The only problem I find is that the design is somewhat uncomfortable to carry as a shoulderbag especially when heavy and when you extend the bag (it has an extension zipper if you need more room). It does not fit well with your body, but the backpack seems to work okay. Overall a good bag if you want a shoulder/backpack combo.
Rating: - Plenty of pockets, but too big
I was looking for a saddlebag to carry my Dell D400 laptop. This seemed like a good choice with all the pocket options, but it turned out to be too bulky for my needs. It would be a great option for a larger laptop and the compartmental space (papers, folders, gadgets, etc.). So here are my pros/cons:
Pros: well padded, plenty of space, enough pockets and a nifty junk-it drawer that slides out for easy access.
Cons: too big and bulky, I have found that the junk-it draw opens prematurely if it is not completely secured.
Rating: - Unimpressed
Serves the purpose but did not meet my criteria for a laptop case that is functional and looks good. Look cheap but what do you expect for $35!!!
