I've purchased a couple of these for a couple of home theaters and haven't had a problem yet. I'm not sure about the claim process noted by the other reviewer, but so far they seem to work fine. (Probably because my house hasn't experienced a major power surge yet) Do not buy this at Best Buy as they charge retail prices. It is much cheaper on Amazon.

I purchased this to protect a lot of my expensive equipment. When my apartment was struck by lightning, the power supply failed to protect most of the components. I lost my computer, Yamaha receiver, Nintendo Wii, Wireless router, and HP printer. I figured I could call upon the warranty to get my stuff fixed, but the monster claim process is worse than most insurance companies.
