Editorial Review:

Product DescriptionThe ComSwitch 3.0 provides the three most useful features you'll ever add to your telephone line, all in one simple device. Your incoming calls will automatically be SWITCHED to your fax or answering machine. Many telemarketing computer dialers will be ZAPPED with special tones that tell them your phone number has been disconnected, removing your number from their call list. Plus, when you're online with your computer, the ComSwitch 3.0 will ALERT you to incoming calls, allowing you to briefly take the call without losing your online connection.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Failured unit
I istalled this product last March and it has since failed. When I try to connect to the internet, it makes the connection and won't give back the phone line when I disconnect unless I actually pull the power adapter. Also, when a fax comes in, it goes to answering machine and doesn't make the connection to receive the fax. At least I can make a phone call. 8 months of service just isn't what I had in mind when I purchased it. In addition, I havent been able to find a link to contact ComSwitch ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Not So Commanding
Biggest issue is that while we're talking on the phone and another call comes in, the device interrupts the ongoing call with an overly loud busy signal. The call isn't ended but it's very difficult to continue a conversation. Also had a problem answering calls from phones not directly connected to the device. The device did not detect that the phone had been answered and routed the call to the answering machine.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - SOLVED MY PROBLEM, WORKED AS STATED!
I AM HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT. IT ANSWERED MY PROBLEMS WITH FAX/ANSWERING MACHINE NEEDS. IT WORKED AS STATED, I DID NOT HAVE TO CHANGE ANYTHING. I FOLLOWED DIRECTIONS AND IT WAS A GREAT HELP TO SOLVING THE NEED TO USE ONLY ONE TELEPHONE LINE AND CALLS WERE DIRECTED TO THE RIGHT LOCATION, WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS FOR ANYONE SEEKING THE NEED TO HAVE FAXES RECEIVED WITHOUT THE ANSWERING MACHINE MESSAGE HEARD FIRST. IT WAS COMPLETELY PROFESSIONAL.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - for me... it works as advertised...
It is not a great piece of hardware, but it WORKS for what I needed it to accomplish. I wanted an automatic single-line switch for a HP all-in-one fax, Panasonic answering machine, and a couple of phone extensions. This product works with the local caller ID service, something similar competing products seem to have difficulty with.

The documentation is simple and easy to read, but is certainly not a great guide to the operation and user interaction of this product. The CS3.0 documentation ... Read More
