I've been converting my VHS tapes into iMovie (digital format) which takes up a lot of space, so I needed an external but I didn't want to spend hundreds. I went though 2 other external hard drives and had a hard time making them mac compatible. The SimpleDrive came with clear computer instudctions and setup was so easy! This is a great product for a great price.

There are some problems keeping the drive connected to the computer. It often has to be unplugged and plugged back in for the computer to recognize the drive.

I have been using this drive for about 2 weeks, and although my needs are fairly simple, it has entirely met my expectations. It was plug and play right out of the box, and was immediately put to use to back up all of my data and image files files, and program files, on two home computers. I back up all new data quickly as they are generated, and transfer when needed between the two computers. The only small inconvenience is that there is one USB port so input must be switched.
