Editorial Review:

Product DescriptionHaving trouble getting a clear view for your remote receiver or would you like to mount your components in a closet? Without a clear line of sight infrared (IR) signals from a remote control will not reach the equipment. We have the answer. Our Remote Control Repeater Kit contains all equipment necessary to remotely operate 4 components (expandable to 12 components) using your standard remotes. Mount the IR receiver in a central location and connect to the IR Distribution Block. This block repeats the signals through emitters to your electronic components. Your components may now be mounted in your entertainment center, closet or another room! The kit is self-contained and easy to connect.

With this kit you may mount a receiver in a convenient place on or near your entertainment system. The receiver has a 9 foot cable that is then attached to the repeater system that is mounted in your entertainment cabinet.

The kit includes 4 emitters. These emitters are connected from the repeater system and placed over the IR receiver of the equipment. Simple installation and hook up while using your existing remotes.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Does not work and returned it to amazon.com
After trying to get this product to work numerous times and being frustrated with not being able to change the channels on our tv, we returned it to amazon.com. Don't waste your money on this.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Finally, an affordable solution
There are plenty of IR Extender vendors who want to sell you the same product for over $100. This product works great! I hid my Verizon FIOS set top box in a kitchen cabinet, to remove some of the clutter from the countertop. Works with TV remote and FIOS remote. The IR Extender improves the distance of the STB. I'm very pleased.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - It's easy to use and install
Installation is easy. The only challange is to drill a hole on the wall for the IR receiver. The hole must be big enough to pass the 3.5 mm jack. I hide the hole behind a switch wall plate. The confirmation light on the IR receiver is a nice feature. No interference between the IR repeater and the LCD projector.

The only thing I don't like is the color of the IR emitter. It comes red while all the devices are black.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Good for a budget but does not compare to Dinky Link
I purchased thsi for my basement thinking that it would be somewhere as good as an old Dinky Link that I had and it is nowhere close. It works fine (3 stars worth) with all signals except for my DVR (1 star). I am not certain if I should blame the C.T.G. IR Repeater or the cable box. My DVD player and receiver work but still not as receptive as the Dinky Link but the Dinky Link does cost a lot more.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Does Not Work With All Devices
I purchased this to control several devices under my TV. My new Cabinet has solid doors and this seemed like a good option. It works ok with my DVR and my Audio system, but it will not work with my box from the cable company. It also seems like you have to hold the buttons down on the remote for a bit longer than normal when using this. Overall I am not happy with this and in hindsight should have paid a little more for a better solution.
