Rating: - Can't give it any more power captin
This thing REQUIRES one 8-pin AND one 6-pin PCI Express power cords
-OR-
Two 6-pin PCI Express cords AND two 4-pin/old style power cords.
I thought the y adapter power cords were so it wouldn't use up a 6pin or a 4pin cable, and it was a pass through. Nope, it needs 2 of each for the alternative setup.
So... I couldn't get it to run. Normally I wouldn't count this against the item except that I have a new top of the line Dell dual-quad core PC with a 750w power ... Read More
Rating: - Great Card!
As someone who used to run an sli system and could see microstutter first hand, I'm completely converted to the single chip solution now. Don't give me a 4870x2 which is nothing more than sli on a single card (crossfire actually). Until microstutter is removed I want the biggest baddest single gpu solution you have. NVIDIA or ATI I don't care.
If you are looking for better value look hard at a 4870 with 1gb of vram, that is why this card review doesn't get 5 stars its bang for the buck in ... Read More
Rating: - THIS IS A BEAST!
I got this as well as a 750w Corsair and an Antec Cyclone case fan as new additions to my new, but inferior XPS 420. The GTX 280 replaced an 8800GT 512MB and the performance boost was incredible.
I can make Crysis run 1920 x 1200 with settings on very high and AA set to 4x with frames of about 37. Medieval 2 will run at all settings and resolutions maxed out no problem, Company of Heroes is surprisingly a little problematic, I can't get it to run Ultra Textures with AA without FPS inconsistencies, ... Rating: - Best card I ever had!!!
This is truly a keeper. This is the best card I ever had and worth every penny. Not too much a big fan of the latest tech out there so obviously, I have no complaints at this time. I f there was a complaint, it would have to be that these cards are not compatible with Vista. Well, I have XP Pro, so I may reserve that complaint for later. As for now, this is a really good card!
Rating: - *** LA BFG GTX 280 ES UN COHETE... ***
