Rating: - Photos better than lab prints
I recently acquired this HP printer to replace a poorly designed Epson which did little for me other than drink ink during its many cleaning cycles, and never feed paper correctly. So far, the HP has not jammed, even with different weight media, and does not seem to be overly hogging the ink for cleaning.
My one complaint, although judging by others' reviews that the included software causes errors, or is otherwise not being utilized as intended, it is (in the Windows environment) only ... Read More

Replaced a 4 year old Epson R300 Printer with The HP D5460.
First, if you ever used an Epson Printer for printing CD or DVD are you ever going to be disappointed with the HP. You don't have the flex ability in sizing. With max setting I get a hairline area that the printer won't print on up the right side of the disc. Email HP tech support over 2 months ago and there problem solving was worthless. This unit prints fine provided that you do not want to SHARE the printer between two computers. The HP web site gives directions on how to set the printer up for sharing, but alas... it refuses to share. Discussions with HP "Technical (non)Support" for over an hour proved to less than frutful as the Tech Rep had no clue about anything technical... especially printers. Rating: - Great Deal on an Excellent Printer
I was looking for a replacement for my older HP Photosmart printer, specifically one with CD/DVD direct print capability. I found it in the D5460, and then some.
It only took a short time to understand the workings and I printed a couple of DVD's the first night. By the third day, I had printed over 40 and each time I improved until It was just another task. I now print several discs every day and it is so easy.
