Editorial Review:

Product DescriptionThe Ritek Compact Flash Card is a series of memory cards that adapt flash memory technology. Conforming to the Compact Flash Specification released by CompactFlash Association (CFA), Ritek CF cards can run in three basic modes: 1) PC Card I/O Mode, 2) PC Card Memory Mode (CF Mode), and 3) True IDE Mode (Fixed Mode). With this advantage Ritek CF cards are especially applied to all kinds of portable devices with a CF slot, such as digital cameras, video cameras, pocket PCs, notebook PCs, industrial controllers, embedded systems, PMP and other multimedia devices.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Card! Super Fast for action burst mode.
I own 2 of these for about 5 months now. Have never had any problem losing pictures like the others indicated. I use Canon 40D and download onto my iMac OSX Leopard via a card reader(firewire). I do download the photos on the same day I shoot.
I take a lot of Hockey shots and I really need a fast, large card that can handle an entire game of many burst mode shots. I don't usually have to wait for the card to process/write between the multiple shots taken in burst mode. I shoot RAW, so 8GB ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - You will lose your pictures!
I got attracted by the 'Lightning Series' tag, thinking [wrongly] that it will somehow help me reach the max rated speed that I need when shooting bursts. I get 6 frames per second all right, but after you leave the camera unused for some time, with this cf card in it,, camera or card reader cannot read any more some of the pictures youve taken. The rate of unreadable pics is about 1 in 10.

I dont know if there are natural bad sectors in this cf card. I reformatted, but still the same ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Card failure, twice.
I purchased this card (RiData 8GB CF 233x), due to its low price. In addition, RiData seems to be a reputable company. The card arrived and accompanied with me for a trip to Washington D.C. It worked great until the third day, the card gave me read error, half-way through shooting with my Canon Rebel XT. I tried to run recovery software, but I kept getting "card not formatted" error message. I had to go back to the same location the next day, but the shots were not as ideal compared to the beautiful ... Read More
