Rating:  - Great drive if only it would work
I bought this drive because of its warrenty and I have 3 other Seagate drives. This drive works great when it is working. However it will not recover from sleep. I have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to restart. I returned the drive and the replacement does the same thing.

This hard drive works perfectly! It is as quiet as can be, is super easy to navigate, and looks really sleek. I thought about getting an external hard drive with less space, but once I actually started storing things on here, I was glad I got the 1TB version. Plus I got the most memory per dollar, so it was definitely worth it.

This drive works like a charm, just plug n play, currently using Windows Vista. I previously had an external casing & a Western Digiatal Hardrive 250 GB that was noisy & also the casing used to get heated, but this is the best i have ever used:
1. Completely silent Operation
2. Doesn't heats up
3. Plug & play no separate drivers needed.
Rating: - A very nice backup system well-built and well-designed
I have been a PC nut since the Apple II and original IBM PC, and backup technology is just now getting good for us small office and home users. I have tried tape backup units, DVDs, and other classic solutions, never with real confidence that my data was stored safely. This 1TB HDD from Seagate really is a superb backup unit.
