I JUST RECEIVED MY NEW AND IMPROVED AND WONDERFUL KINDLE COVER.... WITH THE PRICE OF THE KINDLE WHAT IT IS (AND WELL WORTH IT, I MIGHT ADD), THE CLASSY THING WOULD BE TO INCLUDE THIS LEATHER AND WELL DESIGNED COVER WITH THE ITEM, RATHER THAN THE SUB STANDARD COVER THE DEVICE COMES WITH.... MY ONLY SUGGESTION... IN THE NEXT GENERATION OF COVERS, THE CONTROLS ON THE BACK OF THE DEVICE SHOULD BE MORE ACCESSIBLE USING ANY COVER....

The truth is, I wanted the black cover. Reading the reviews, though, there was a consistent theme: the black dye was transferring to the white Kindle.
I have had my cover for several weeks, now, and there is no dye transfer problem with the brown.
There were never any problems anchoring the Kindle in the holder--I can remove it and resecure it with little effort. I think it offers exceptional protection for the Kindle, and even with it closed and latched, it is eye-catching. ... Read More

Someone should kick Amazon for shipping the expensive Kindle with that lame-brained, completely unreliable, Kindle-damaging cover. The clip mechanism should go into a mechanical engineering museum for fantasy designs doomed to annoy users (as should the Kindle itself -- what a user interface nightmare!).

I bought this cover at the same time I bought my Kindle. I couldn't have been more satisfied with it. I did a lot of research before I bought the Kindle, and am glad I did. A constant complaint was about the original cover's bad design and poor quality. When I got it, I couldn't believe such a high-priced electronic device came with such a cheap cover.
