It really works ! Don't ask me how & don't ask me why , it just simply works. We use to operate a fan to put us asleep. That worked too ,except the fan blew a cold chill in the room. Also I am sure the electric bill decreased once we bought the Sleep Sound Machine. The fans in this house were always running. Plus after a while , the fans seem to be causing some noise pollution.
The only mod that I would suggest , would be a " Lights Out " on the unit after a preset span of time ... Read More
Rating: - Good Sound Delivery
This sound machine delivers on the promise of 12 tranquil sounds, that have helped me to sleep better. The sounds are varied and nice (white noise, rain fall, meditation zen-type sounds, etc.) There is a sleep adjustment that turns the sounds off after 30/60/90 minutes.
My only quible is that it is not possible to turn off the light that identifies the type of sound, only to dim this light.
But, overall this is a good product and much better than my old Radio Shack machine.
Rating: - A sound machine that helps me sleep
When you live in a house with cats you get to hear a lot of noises in the middle of the night. Since I've been using my sound machine from Brookstone that generates white noise I've been able to sleep much better as I don't hear those minor sounds anymore that our cats make. Put it on the rain setting to get relaxed and then sleep soundly.

I loved the item for the first few weeks, then it starting playing warped, slow sounds for most of the settings. After the 6th week...the unit died completely!!!The item was a gift and I did not have the receipt, though I did have the credit card statement. The manager at the store (FireWheel in Garland, Texas) was not professional or helpful. Rating: - sleeping better
I purchased the sound therapy system based on a review in Consumer Reports. I am sleeping better and enjoy the light sound, especially the rain and the crickets.
