I bought this DVD player on Amazon.com and it's worth every penny! The best thing is it can play Divx movies, which I've stored on my USB flash drives and external hard drives. Before transferring/copying your movies to your external hard drive, you MUST format/re-formt it in FAT32 (neither FAT nor NTFS). There's some free tools to do it online (hint: search Google for "FAT32.exe"). This is a great, basic DVD player, and setup couldn't be easier -- take it out of the box, plug it in, and watch your first DVD within about 15 minutes. It provides good quality audio and video (both contingent, of course, upon the television and cables used). You can't do better for the $.

The DVD player was purchased for my teenage son who really enjoys watching movies. The price and quality of the Philips brand is second to none. We purchased a HDMI television a while back so the HDMI DVD player has made his audio and visual needs complete.

I'm not a huge audio/videophile so this won't necessarily be the most technical review out there but let me tell you the great things about this DVD player. The feature that sold me on it was the USB port. I can now take any movie off of my computers hard drive, put it on a little thumb drive, and play it on the player. Rating: - Working good from the first time
This player is really good and cheap. Use it everyday to watch movies and dvd concerts. My favorite feature is the USB slot which let me watch movies that are on my computer. Pair this player with a USB hard drive and you have a nice media center.
