Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Neat hardware, junk software
I bought one of these at Fry's and quickly found that the receiver didn't pick up satellite data as well as it should. (I've used and programmed with GPS units before.) I took it back and got a replacement that works great; I set it on the dashboard and it gets a fix within a few seconds.

I really like the Bluetooth interface, which gives me a virtual COM port. (The raw data can be seen by setting HyperTerminal to that port.) In addition to my position, the BT-20 gives me a list of satellites ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Buy a Standalone GPS Instead
I thought the tiny BT-20 would be a great addition to my Palm Treo 680 and save me having to carry a bulky dedicated GPS around. I ignored the other reviews as being software related since I'd used an earlier version and hadn't had a problem. I should have visited the DeLorme "support" forum which appears to never be visited by anyone actually associated with DeLorme.

Although the software isn't as easy to use as a standalone GPS I can get maps from my address book pretty simply.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - DeLorme Earthmate GPS BT-20
Bought this product for my pda. I found that its quite useless since there is no audio at all. The maps for a pda have to be made from the main program. It is quite confusing in doing this. The help files are almost as useless as well. Using this product on a laptop appears to be okay, but on a pocket pc or pda is surely a waste of time and money.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Don't Waste Your Money
I am a real estate investor who specializes in helping people avoid foreclosure. As part of my business I knock on people's door who are in foreclosure. I offer to buy their house before the bank forecloses. I needed a software where I can import my lists into a mapping utility. I was hoping to save hours of time, except that...

IT DOES NOT WORK!!!

In Arizona we are on a modified grid system. For example, 7811 W. Kateri Dr. should be near 78th Ave, right? Not according to Delorme's handy ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Needs work
I knew going in that this wouldn't be a simple turn on and go anywhere device, but I never guessed how complicated it would turn out to be. The GPS device itself is fine, the bluetooth connected to my IPAQ without any problems, but thats where it ended being easy.

The PC mapping software is very difficult to use, it was a good 30 minutes before I figured out how to even see my own city. The tutorials were useless, and the user interface is useful, but very complex.

Also, the maps themselves ... Read More
