I ordered the DVD-VHS Player and Recorder and found it to be everything I wanted and more. The quick guide and the manual where very detailed. The digital turner worked well and I recorded with no trouble at all to a dvd+rw disc. The remote has the buttons to set record program and time set review. I did'nt buy the HDMI cord with the recorder and wish I had. You'll pay alot more at Radio Shack. I used the outside tv antena to record off digital free tv channel, and played the recording through the ... Read More
Rating: - DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE
I bought this machine and have been trying to use it for a month now.
Regarding dubbing - have tried 5 different types of dvd disks and the machine stops recording or dubbing at its own time frame - sometimes, it will stop at one hour, 2 hours, 2 1/2 hours, sometimes 3 1/2 hours - I set the recording mode for 2, 4, 5, or 6 hours, does not matter - the machine just stops for no reason. Also, recording from the tv onto disk or vcr tape causes stuttering in the picture - cannot watch final results. ... Read More
Rating: - excellent choice for a DVD Recorder
I have purchased 2 of the these in the same exact model. I am very pleased with the ease of use and also with their performance. Not only can you record on DVD's, but you can also record on VHS. For those of us who still have blank VHS tapes to use up, this is a plus. Since you can watch your recorded items on both VHS or DVD, you can make the most out of this electronic device. Dubbing can be done from VHS to DVD so you can bring yourself up to speed in today's technology world. The Toshiba brand offers ... Read More

I have had this VCR/DVD combo a few weeks now and I have used it both as a DVD player and VCR to record and play back TV shows. I had seen reviews that loading a DVD is slow and it is marginally slower then the DVD player it replaced but not by much. It is taking a little getting used to programming the recorder, but I think that is just learning the unit. The maual was very clear, but who wants to keep reading the manual. I have not tried using the internal recording modes yet. I purchased the unit mostly ... Read More

My first Toshiba DV/R 660 had problems. The memory was faulty and the unit had to be replaced. Amazon.com gets an A for good customer service and fast response. The second unit has performed very well and has not given me any trouble. Toshiba customer service in another issue, however,
Do not be fooled by the advertising. This unit will not record high definition broadcasts in 1080p. If you find a HD station that is broadcasting in 480p, then the Toshiba will perform as expected. Also, this unit ... Read More
