Just bought this item, and it doesn't work. I have an HP Pavillion dv5 laptop, and both USBs are plugged in.
I just wanted something quick, simple, and convenient. For the extra money that I'd have to spend in order for this to work, I'd rather upgrade to a different product.
Returning it tomorrow and buying something else.

One of the few external drives that doesn't require a power cord to plug in when using. In essence, you could consider this a 320GB jumpdrive ! Very handy for the people who needs to carry last amounts of data for archiving, backups, or just a huge media library ! I've used this drive to backup data quickly during episodes of hard disk drive crashes and it has been a life saver. Relatively easy to carry in a pocket, so its very, very portable. Rating: - Great but one problem
I love this product -- it's comapct -- attractive -- BUT -- unless I have it connected when I boot up my computer -- it doesn't show up and I can't move files to it. I have used the extra USB connection thinking it might be a low power problem but it doesn't help.

Yes I did purchase Simpletech Mini fu-u25 I sent it back because it stop workng. with Case# CS290124) (RMA# R168800) they still have not recieved the item as yet.
