Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Slow Downloads
I purchased this item to decrease my download time of images from a Compact Flash Card to my laptop.

It took 23 minutes and 35 seconds to download 1.1 GB of images using the SIIG ExpressCard/54 CF R/W, while it only took 1 minute and 6 seconds to download the same images using a USB CF Reader.

What a waste of money!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Compact Flash Reader Writer: Super Fast!
This reader / write is super fast! Much faster than USB 2.0 reader/writer, 2X-->3X faster or so, especially with Extreme III CF cards. And the price is quite affordable too. This card might be the fastest one to work directly with DELL Inspiron 9400 notebook. The firewire reader is faster but it requires a firewire hub to work with the notebook, and that would cost 3-->4X more than this card. Overall, highly recommended for Dell notebook users!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Macbook Pro Owners beware
This is no doubt a fine product. But, I just learned the hard way that there's more than one ExpressCard format. Who knew? When I was young we had PCM-CIA cards and there was one size. Now there's this new fangled deal and it comes in a variety of sizes. This device is an ExpressCard/54. My Macbook Pro is looking for an Expresscard/34. Make sure you're getting the right one for you needs.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - great speed for transfers
great product. got this to tranfer files from cf cards i use when shooting wth my 40D and R1. fits almost flush in my hp dv7t, and i can leave it in there.
the only inconveniences:
it will cause the computer to make an alert like when you connect a new piece of hardware about every minute if there is no cf card in the reader. turning the sound off, i can ignore this slight problem.

it works best if you take the reader out of the expresscard slot to insert a cf card, and ... Read More
