Rating: - Update the BIOS for Core 2 Duo CPU to work.
BIOS is old, unable to access Core 2 Duo CPU.....
Had to install older P4 CPU, flash BIOS, then install Core 2 Duo.
Asus should get their head out of the sand. They print that the MB can take Core 2 Duo, but they don't mention that you have to update the BIOS to make things work! Dumbbells.
The CPU Cooler can be no larger than 92mm x 92mm due to cooling cage that surrounds the CPU.
Other than this stupidness, the board is great.

I got this system to build a new VISTA based system. It had more than was needed, so it made a great foundation. This system was very easy to over-clock and runs very stable. Unfortunately I can't say that for VISTA! I ended up putting XP back on this system and it runs great. It comes with XP and VISTA drivers, so you can go either way. I would highly recommend this motherboard for the foundation on your new system!

1st of all you don't know what your talking about!!
this motherboard is the best DDR3 memory motherboard out there with crazy overclocking ability..! if you did not make enough research on this mobo then you only have your self to blame. speaking of DDR3 memory , there are 2 versions on the X38 intel chipsets that ASUS tweaked. one is for the new DDR3 memory and the other for DDR2. If the price of DDR3 is too high in the meantime (which i completely agree with you on this) and you still wanted ... Read More
Rating: - Order from ANTONLINE with an abudance of caution
The product description omitted a lot key details including most importantly the vendor's (ANTONLINE's) return policy. Despite not having opened the internal packaging with the exception of reviewing the product manual for compatibility issues/ concerns; I have spent the last four days in a run around with the vendor, and as far as I can tell there is no human being you can actually talk to.
Issues/ Concerns:
(1) The built int WIFI network could be a security risk. It is not ... Read More
