This monitor replaced an old and power-hungry Diamondtron. It's every bit as sharp and bright as the CRT, but uses probably a quarter of the electricity. If you don't need a widescreen, but want great gaming and multimedia experiences, I'd recommend this model. Note that I did have a problem with the first one of these I received: At 2 months of use, the backlight failed.
