I got the Iris USOA447 IRIScan Express 2 Portable Scanner because it would help in my studio for document scanning and business cards scanning, etc. I couldn't use it because the software that came with it was not upgraded to work with Mac OX 10.4+. I had to return it to Amazon. I wish that the information regarding the system requirements for Mac was more specific, and truthfully state the included Iris software will not work with Mac OX 10.4 +

I really like this product. Can use it on the PC and Mac. It scans well and saves tons of paper space. I use it for biz cards, receipts, notes, pictures. So far it's great!
Rating: - Mac user - OK if not your primary scanner
I am a mac user and I don't use this scanner as my primary scanner. I'm a sole practitioner criminal defense attorney. I use the scanner to capture documents away from the office when there's not a copier available or when a court wants to charge me 75 cents a page. for that it is fine, but otherwise, i wouldn't recommend it. no independent twain driver so you have to use their software and it send each page out as a separate file when sending to adobe. find something else if you are only going to ... Rating:  - Very convenient scanner
I am on the road alot and bombarded by papers and business cards. The scanner has helped organize everything and eliminate my constant problem of losing documents. I did however loose the calibration sheet which I saw noted in another review. Not to worry, use a small piece of white printer paper and it will calibrate. Overall the card scanner software works great and I've played around with the OCR software and so far so good. Great price too.

Finally a real portable/travel scanner for MAC OS X. Nothing powerful as no duplex (copying both side in one pass). Its small foot space and no need to have/use a clunky AC adapter makes it convenient to take when traveling. Good to great software included. Worth the price and even better when on sale or with rebate. Can be a memory hog if scanning too much.
