I just received my steelseries SX mousepad. It unfortunately does neither work with my Logitech nor my Microsoft optical mouse.
Both mice do not pick up any movement. It looks to me as if the black surface of the pad absorbs all light and does not reflect at all.
I bought the mouse pad because of the many positive reviews and do not have any clue what is different with my mice.

I was skeptical spending $40 for a mouse pad, but I'm glad I did.
This pad works great with my G9 mouse. Smooth, well built and should last a lifetime. Highly recommend the SteelSeries SX Mouse Pad (Black).

Couldn't be happier. This is the last mouse pad I will ever have to buy. I've owned their glass line in the past & loved them too but kept dropping them so I went to the unbreakable kind this time & will never have to change again. Perfroms great. I do a lot of gaming & it moves really well.

bought this mousepad as i was getting bored with my icemat v2. maybe i got a bad unit but i was very disappointed with the SX...
first of all the icemat had decreased friction to touch as compared to the SX!
secondly, i tried both logitech mx518 and ms wmo1.1 and both skipped erratically all over the place if i moved the mouse too quickly.
moral of the story: rmaed the SX, stickin with my icemat...

I use this mouse pad for CAD work...it's extremely accurate and seems exceptionally durable. No more frayed, crumb-dropping foam mouse pads bound for a landfill. This one will last an extremely long time--plus it's easy to clean. Recommend using the included glide feet for the best glide. If you use a mouse a lot and need an accurate durable pad, this one's worth it.
