As far as USB mice go, this is about as simple as they come. I got 3 of these off an online sale for literally a penny each, and to that end they do their duty.
The top, black surface of the mouse is slightly grooved, apparently for grip. The mouse is pretty small -- about 4 1/2" in length-- and so it's uncomfortable for someone with big hands like me to use.
