Rating:  - Worst printer I have owned
This is my third Epson printer. I dearly loved my others. The CX8400 is the worst piece of junk printer I have owned. Epson has already replaced this for me once on warranty and the second is no better. The biggest problem is the paper loading and feed. You have to stand directly over the paper feed to load the paper to be sure it gets into the slot. Then it generally pulls the paper on a slight skew. Every time I print labels it smudges the bottom of the page with black ink.

Rating: - refuses to recognise epson ink cartridges
An awful product, it drinks ink, and then even though I replaced with genuine epson cartridges it refused to recognise them...

I have been using this printer for a bit over a year and think it is just fine. I use it on a regular basis as I am a college student and have only replaced the ink one time. I generally just print in draft mode or in B&W. Also, it is vista compatible. I have vista on my computer and have been using this printer since I got the computer. The only problem I have ever is that it is a bit finnicky about paper loading which can be annoying when in a hurry. Other than that no complaints though. ... Read More

I received the Stylus CX8400 DOA with scanner error. If it was something I did to cause it then I'm sure the printer is great, but all I did was install the ink and then I got the error.

The Good: Print Quality!
I have been very surprised and impressed with the photo print quality of this printer. If you use the proper paper, you really CAN get lab-comparable results! I dabble in some photography and belong to some clubs here and there, some of which have ongoing competitions.
