The Lexmark package was the same as what I've been using on my printer and what is recommended. However, when I inserted a new black cartridge, the printer would not work and a message appeared "replace cartridge". I could not figure out why it would not work. On close inspection, I noticed on the bottom of the cartridge it had a different letter and number stamped into it than what I was using on the printer.
