Rating: - Good Basic Speaker
I'm very pleased with the speakers. Good quality sound for such a compact inexpensive setup. I also like that it uses a standard power plug instead of a transformer. Excellent choice for a small space. The controls are easy to use. Power is by push button, instead of knob to fiddle with.
Rating: - not for classical music
The Altec Lansing VS2420 speakers were relatively cheap, but you get what you pay for. They are OK for basic computer use, but not for listening to classical music. I am not a demanding listener but the music delivered by these speakers is frequently accompanied by static when listening to on line radio classical music and sometimes when listening to CD's.
If you find that annoying, don't purchase them. Otherwise they are adequate.
Rating: - Good speakers for the price!
These speakers are pretty good considering it only cost me $20 at office depot with coupon. Rating: - Good quality for the money
I paid $30 for these speakers, expecting to get a $30 pair of speakers. As far as that goes, I can't complain. The amplifier doesn't whine, the sound is clear (at least at low-medium volumes), and they don't take up a lot of desk space. I passed up more expensive speakers, and I don't regret it.
