If you buy this for PC, make sure you have a FireWire port available...or plan on getting one.

Rating: - Easy to Use but Uses A lot of Memory
I have been very happy with the ADS Pyro A/V Link. It is extremely easy to use, but I needed to do some initial troubleshooting because right out of the box it wasn't recognizing my video camera that I hooked up to it so I could convert my old 8mm tapes to digital. I found the answer on ADS's website. I needed to change the configuration of the dip switches on the back...no big deal. Rating: - Self-sufficient without Elements
I'd agree with the previous reviewer that all you need is the pictured link device and a firewire cable. I was mainly concerned with converting personal vhs tape to digital files on my computer, and with the ADS device plus cable the transfer from vhs player to my iMac was a no-brainer. I did some editing with Toast, though any number of programs would work once the conversion is completed.
