The memory for my HP notebook worked first time with no problems whatsover. I also kept 512 Mb from my existing memory and the 2GB and 512 worked together fine.

I logged into amazon around 8 am west coast time and have been looking for memory for my hp dv6605us. I used the kingston memory finder. I have 1 gb of memory right now and wanted to go for 2 gb. I checked the price and I bought 4gb of memory. 2x2gb. They were $10.40 each. I bought 2 for me and two for my friend that has the same exact laptop. I spent $51 dollars delivered. I bought 2X 2GB and added it to my new notebook. This thing is so fast that I rather use my notebook than my desktop. I have used Kingston RAM in the past without any problems. Runs great.
