Product DescriptionThe Zoom/Modem V.92 PCI Model 3025 is a high-performance fax modem that plugs into a PCI slot of a Windows-based computer. The Model 3025's performance is enhanced by an on-board DSP (Digital Signal Processor) and ITU V.92 / V.44 standard compatibility. The Zoom/Modem V.92 PCI outperforms V.90 modems. ITU V.92 is a new standard for dialup modems. It, and its companion compression standard V.44, makes communications faster, easier and more enjoyable. The 'automatic negotiation' or 'handshake' at the beginning of a call can be over twice as fast with Zoom/Modem V.92 models than with V.90 modems. The new V.44 compression technology results in significantly faster Web browsing and download speeds. Upload speeds (before compression) with Zoom/Modem V.92 models can be up to 40% faster, too. As an added convenience, the Zoom/Modem V.92 PCI allows an incoming phone call to be received without losing an Internet connection. These dramatic improvements in performance are available to Zoom/Modem V.92users whose ISP (Internet Service Provider) has upgraded to the new standard. The Zoom/Modem V.92 PCI Model 3025 is capable of receiving data from an Internet Service Provider (ISP) or online service over standard phone lines at speeds up to 56 Kbps uncompressed. Outgoing data is transmitted at speeds up to 48 Kbps.

Bought this modem because I have had several Zoom products in the past and all have worked flawlessly. Not with this one though. Installed the software and it seemed to be fine. It dials just fine, but immediately disconnects when connecting to the remote sever or dial-up service. I tried dialing into several different servers including their own with the same result. It just won't stay connected. I tried downloading the software from their site thinking it might be the disk, but, that didn't ... Read More

The modem installed and was recognized just fine. I'm still trying to figure out the software interface (but I haven't spent too much time on it). So far I haven't been able to experience it working properly. It also keeps saying that caller ID (screening) is not available. Yet the modem shows to support it (there's a box it allowed me to check). I'm trying to use it on my main phone line (I use DSL to connect, not dial-up) to be able to send/receive faxes thru the computer. I want to make sure ... Read More

Went in without a hitch. Still on V.90 line and performance over the previous TelePath with X2 by US Robotronic is improved. Can't go wrong for the price.
Rating: - Great Modem Agere 3025...L
I was looking for a V92 with Modem On Hold that really worked. What I got with the 3025 was excellent speed for a dialup and MOH that worked flawlessly. I believe both the Agere 3025-00-00L and Conexant 3025-00-00C chips were used in this model. I have another machine using the Conexant chip and MOH functions are not dependable. I would definitely recommend the Agere based modem.

I needed a new modem to replace the US Robotics that died in my windows 98 machine. I bought the Zoom model 3025. It claims to have "lightning protection" which is how my old one died. Hopefully I won't have to test that functionality. I have no technical experience, but this modem was very easy to install and run. It took me less than 10 minutes to install.
